Yes. Members may make partial or full payments in advance through the Member Portal, and all payments are tracked on the account ledger. For applicants, prepaid dues may be considered in some cases as part of application review, but prepaid dues do not replace the need for verifiable income, a qualified cosigner, or another approved financial support structure.  If prepaid dues are required as part of conditional approval, our team will explain the amount and next steps during the application process.

To make a payment, log into your Member Portal and click on the " Pay " tab. Click the "Pay Now" button and fill in your payment information. Click the "Submit Payment" button to finish.

Members can pay via debit card, credit card, or bank draft (echeck). Card transactions have have a fee associated with them from the network. However bank drafts are FREE and encouraged. Community Room Rental does not receive any fees associated with card transactions.

Refund requests are reviewed under Community Room Rental’s refund policy. Team members cannot promise a refund before review. Your refund eligibility depends on when you make the request. In all cases, The application fee is always non-refundable Refunds will take at least 1 week to process Refunds Before Move-In Please see How do I cancel my move-in? Refunds on Move-In Day In certain cases, there may be problems with your room or home that Community Room Rental is able to remediate. Members may qualify for a refund if the following problems are unable to be fixed in a reasonable amount of time: You are unable to access the room or home after trying all the troubleshooting methods listed here The room has not been cleaned (please note that minor wear and tear such as wall markings, imperfect paint and light dust do not qualify) The room is occupied The home's listing details on the platform are incorrect In addition, please note: Move-ins are only supported during the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm EST, M-F. We highly encourage Members to schedule their move-ins during these times. Move-ins made outside of these hours are not eligible for a refund. Members must make good faith efforts to remediate the problem by following these steps. Members who move their things into the home will not be eligible for a refund. If you would like to request a refund based on the criteria above, please Contact Member Services. If you are unhappy with the room for any other reason, you can transfer locations. Will you report my membership payments to the Credit Bureaus? We currently report payments to Equifax and TransUnion via a third-party service provider, Esusu Financial. Why do you report membership payments to the Credit Bureaus? Community Room Rental reports Membership payments to help our Members build their credit histories and improve their credit scores. Through our Esusu partnership, over 2,700 Members have established a credit score for the very first time. 95% of Community Room Rental Members have seen an improvement in their credit. The average score increase of those Members was 40 points. How will my membership payments appear on my credit report? Community Room Rental will appear as the reporting data furnisher on your Equifax credit report. Esusu Financial will appear as the reporting data furnisher on your TransUnion credit report. How long will it take for my membership payments to appear on my credit report? Esusu reports payments to the bureaus monthly, and the bureaus factor that data into credit scores after completing their own quality control reviews. It typically takes between 2 to 8 weeks before a member’s reported payments will appear on their credit report. How much will my credit score change due to membership reporting? It is impossible to promise or predict a certain score increase because every person has a unique credit risk profile, and multiple factors impact a person’s score. That said, below are some generalizations to keep in mind: People who verify 2 years of payment history and who already have established credit could potentially see an increase of 25-50 points if their payment history does not contain any late payments. People who do not have a credit score at all could potentially jump up to the mid-600s by adding 2 years of payments to their credit file.

To avoid a late fee, your balance must be $0 by the end of your Dues Day (most are due on the first, late by midnight of the 5th). A late fee of $50 is added: When your Membership payment is late (payments are considered late when they are paid after your Dues Day) If you carry a balance (even if you paid your dues on time this billing period, a late fee will be applied if you still carry a balance from a previous billing period, including late fees) For more information on your billing schedule, see When are my Membership payments due?

Membership payments must be paid by the end of your Dues Day. Your recurring Dues Day is determined by the settings you chose during the booking process (most are due on the first, late by midnight of the 5th). Membership payments are billed two days before your Dues Day. If payment is not made in full by the end of your Dues Day, you will be charged a $50 late fee. If you carry a balance past your due date, late fees and collection reminders may apply according to your lease/membership agreement and ledger. Payments are applied to your ledger in the order specified by Community Room Rental policy and your agreement. If you expect trouble making a payment, contact Member Services before you fall behind.  You can review your balance, payment history, and upcoming charges in your Member Portal.

 Payment Application Policy : Please note that any payments made are applied to your ledger in a specific order: first to any outstanding administrative fees, parking fees, and utility charges, and lastly to rent. Notice regarding Parking : Non-payment of the monthly parking fee will result in the vehicle being classified as unauthorized. Unauthorized vehicles are subject to towing at the owner's expense in accordance with N.C.G.S. § 20-219.2. If a partial payment is made that does not cover the parking fee, the vehicle remains subject to towing. All Members are provided free access to our Online Portal from the beginning of the Membership process. In the portal is where a prospective member would pay any application fees, sign their lease, make maintenance requests, as well as pay monthly rent. There are a couple of options for paying rent: · Credit Card – requires a 3.5% fee · eCheck (ACH or direct debit) - FREE Either path is up to the member but we encourage eCheck as that is a free option. All credit/debit card fees go to the network and are not part of Community Room Rental’s income. What does the Online Portal provide for Members? The online portal is a free tool for Members to: · Pay Membership Fees · Communicate with our office · Submit maintenance requests · Submit proof of renters insurance You can access the portal from our Members page.
